Fiera Fiesta, a two day industrial fest & seminar, conducted by Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management, Kolkata with the support of its MPSM department was recently concluded in the Institute’s premises. This unique initiative provided an excellent platform of interface for Industries and prospective students to develop professional efficiency in Public systems management in tune with the current Indo-global environment. The event on the first day included panel discussions by senior executives from corporate as well as the government sector, followed by interactive programs such as a thought-provoking debate and quiz participated by leading B-school and college students. This auspicious occasion was graced by esteemed personalities hailing from the major energy, healthcare, environment & logistics sectors such as CESC, BM Birla Heart Research Center, SembRamky & BOC; and was presided by Sri Samar Jha from the State Planning Board of West Bengal. True to the word Public in "Masters of Public Systems Management" a social event was organized namely "Pranav kanya Sangha" sponsored by KIARTD by giving donations from the surpluses generated from the event funds.
The second day was significant in bringing together the eminent alumni from the department who came together to uphold the unified spirit of the former as well as present students. The day’s events were followed by the grand finale of the quiz and debate as well as a prolific cultural program organized which showcased the talents of the MPSM students to set a festive spirit to the proceedings. The outcome of the event helped the students to infuse an indomitable motivation for furthering the dynamics of recruiting this new workforce across the industrial and corporate verticals; and as rightfully observed by Prof D. K. Sanyal, the present director of IISWBM "the students have been tailor-made for the changing business environment and are better equipped to face future challenges".
