Dr. Surajit Chakraborty had his education at Jadavpur University and Bengal Engineering and Science University, Shibpur. A geologist by profession, he has gained experience in hydrogeological investigation involving GIS, remote sensing, and groundwater modelling. He has undertaken more than 8 R&D and consultancy projects. Dr. Chakraborty is the member of the Mining, Geological, and Metallurgical Institute of India (MGMI) and has published over 12 research papers in international and national journals, conference proceedings etc. Dr. Chakraborty has been engaged with several consultancy firms in the field of remote sensing and GIS. Currently as the Lecturer of the department he is actively engaged in research and teaching of subject like remote sensing and GIS, and groundwater. Presently engaged with water resources project funded by UNICEF. |
