IISWBM - Mr. Ankan Banerjee

Profile

Ankan Banerjee is the Assistant Professor and Coordinator of the Department of MBA (DAY) of IISWBM. Previously, he was the Coordinator of the Post Graduate Diploma Course in Sports Management of the Institute. He completed his Masters in Economics and Post Graduate Diploma in Sports Management. His professional journey started with Comperio Research, the market research arm of IMG. After Comperio Research, he joined All India Football Federation (AIFF), the national body of football of India, as the Event Coordinator of the I- League and also played an important role in introducing the Club Licensing Criteria in Indian football. During his tenure with AIFF, he attended a course on Match Coordination conducted by the FIFA. After AIFF, he joined New World Consulting, a Bangalore based Sports Management Company, and was involved in various projects including the brand management of overseas clubs and leagues in India.

Apart from the MBA course (Day and Evening), he also teaches in other courses of the institute including MBA-HRM, MBA-PS, MSW, Post Graduate Diploma in Sports Management (PGDSM), EPGPM etc.

His comments on the business and management were published in various leading newspapers and magazines, including The Telegraph, Times of India, Economic Times, Anandabazar Patrika, Open Magazine etc.

He is currently doing his Ph.D. under the Baba Saheb Ambedkar Education University (erstwhile The West Bengal University of Teachers' Training, Education Planning and Administration) after qualifying in the RET examination.
