Registrar (Acting)

The undersigned was Registrar (Acting) of IISWBM from June 2017 to November 2017. Apart from routine work, she delivered the following:

  • Note on several courses of the Institute (e.g. I-Nurture etc.)
  • Note on amount due from collaborative organizations
  • Note on overdue staff promotions
  • Recovery and collation of documents relating to Rajarhat construction
  • Identification of faculty gap areas in different courses

MBA department coordination and Headship:

The undersigned acted as coordinator of the MBA (Day) department under the successive Headship of Prof. Amitava Sarkar, Prof. S. N. Ray and Prof. K. K. Roy. She was Head of the MBA department (day and evening) for 2 stints from January 2015 to December 2016 and again from 2019 to 2021.  She took the initiative and implemented the reduction of the time frame of the MBA Evening course from 3 years to 2 years.

 

In-Charge of M.Phil. & Ph.D Programme:

The undersigned was given the responsibility of starting the M.Phil. and Ph.D Programme of IISWBM. She carried out the work of designing the programme, getting approval from Calcutta University and beginning the first session of the M.Phil. programme.

 

AISHE:

The undersigned was the State Nodal Officer for All India Survey (West Bengal) on Higher Education being conducted by MHRD. IISWBM was the State Nodal Agency. The work required close liaison with MHRD and the Department of Higher Education (Govt. of West Bengal).

 

IISWBM Road map:

An external consultant, Mr. D. N. Sengupta, was appointed to draw up a roadmap for IISWBM. He was assisted by Prof. Anindya Sen of IIMC and the undersigned. The team interviewed faculty members from different departments, HODs and officers and made its recommendations. Report was submitted to the Director (2009).

 

Brand IISWBM:

The undersigned was asked to lead a team with other marketing faculty members to prepare a recommendation for the branding of IISWBM. The work was discontinued. (2009-10)

 

Salt Lake campus proposal:

The undersigned was asked to prepare a proposal for the Institute's Salt Lake campus. The proposal was presented before certain members of the Board and a hard copy submitted to the Director. (2009-10)

 

Foreign Collaboration:

The undersigned was given the responsibility to collaborate with Ludwigshafen University of Applied Sciences, Germany, and offer the MBA Programme in International Management Consultancy. The undersigned was sent to Germany for the purpose.

 

Board of Studies and Faculty Council:

The undersigned is a member of the Board of Studies for the MBA Examination. She was a member of the University of Calcutta's Faculty Council for Post-graduate Studies in Commerce, Social Welfare & Business Management.

 

International Conference:

The undersigned was on the Coordination Committee for the Institute's Annual International Conference from its inception in 2007 (when we started with less than 10 papers) right till the 5th conference in 2010 (where we screened and rejected papers and had video conferencing sessions with distinguished academicians abroad). The undersigned was again Coordinator of the 2014 Conference where the Chief Guest was Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.

 

MDP Coordinator:

The undersigned, together with Gairik Das, was coordinator for a 10-month long training programme for Emami (20011-12). The undersigned had also coordinated several other MDPs, including a series of MDPs for the Postal Department, amongst others. The undersigned was the Coordinator for the Postgraduate Programme in Public Health Management offered jointly by IISWBM and All India Institute of Hygiene and Public Health (2008-11).
