In compliance with directives received from Central Vigilance Commission (Govt of India) Balmer Lawrie & Co Ltd has been observing 'Vigilance awareness Week (VAW) 2022' between 31st October and 6th November 2022 on the theme "Corruption free India for a developed nation".
In this regard they had approached IISWBM to host an extempore speech contest among students on the 11th of November 2022 between 12 noon and 2 pm.
The MSW department had been entrusted with the responsibility of organising the same in the Institute auditorium.
Students from all departments were invited to join this competition on the topic of "Vigilance and corruption". Thirty students participated in the competition. They were judged by Prof Sona Banerjee from IISWBM and Mr Arumoy Khan (Chief Manager-Vigilance, Balmer Lawrie & Co Ltd). All the students were given a cap and some snacks by M/s Balmer Lawrie & Co Ltd.
The introductory speech was delivered by Prof (Dr) Sudeepa Banerjee . Mr Jayanta Basu - VP, Vigilance, Balmer Lawrie & Co Ltd also spoke to the students on the subject. The program concluded with the distribution of prizes.
Students were awarded prizes (1st, 2nd 3rd and three consolation prizes) and certificates.
The first prize was won by Anushka Sengupta from the MBA-HR department, the second prize was awarded to Avanti Roy of MSW department and the third prize was won by Pratiti Dutta of the MBA-PS department. Consolation prizes were won by Arnab Kr Das of MBA department and Suranjan Mukherjee and Hritika Das of the MSW department.
